- To provide community support, learning and quality services for the most disadvantaged within the City of Yarra

Mission Statement
Aims:
1. Meeting Place.
The House is a place where people come to meet others, to form friendships and
to nurture a strong and supportive community. To achieve this, the Neighbourhood
House offers a variety of educational, cultural, recreational and social
activities to its local community. The Committee of Management aims to ensure
that the Neighbourhood House is safe and welcoming to everyone.
2. Programs
- To develop programs which are responsive to the local community and to
ensure that these programs are accessible to all, both financially and
culturally.
- To offer programs of high quality.
- To offer programs which have a clear focus on the provision of educational
programs which accesses the community to other pathways in education.
- To ensure that all programs are inclusive.
- To compliment the educational programs with a responsive recreational activity program.
3. Childcare
- To provide high quality childcare at an affordable cost.
- To ensure that children are cared for in safe environment.
- That the Neighbourhood House complies with the requirements of a registered childcare program.
4. Social Justice
- The Neighbourhood House aims to foster social justice strategies and to work towards equity for disadvantaged groups in the North Richmond Community.
- The Neighbourhood House aims to create, initiate, support and promote activities, which will encourage participation by all.
- The Neighbourhood House encourages the participation of people with both physical and intellectual disabilities.
5. Support
The Neighbourhood House aims to offer assistance, advocacy, resources and opportunities to those who otherwise may be denied pathways for development.
6. Management
- To create opportunities for local community to participate in the management of the Neighbourhood House.
- To ensure that the Committee of Management is responsible for the development of policy, financial management and the employment and support of House staff.
7. Government Policy
To ensure that community members have access to government policy and to promote
active participation through the dissemination of information.
8. Committee Structure
- BANH Inc auspices Belgium Avenue and Collingwood Neighbourhood Houses.
- BANH Inc. works in partnership with Richmond Uniting Church in managing the Clifton Creative Art Centre.
- BANH Inc has a community-based committee of management made up of local Yarra community members.
- Elections held annually
- Combination of executive committee and full committee meetings held throughout the year
- Local community are encouraged to contact the Houses for more information
